As the course is about implementing the production (the employer) OHS management system the course is referenced and linked to the Screen Producer Association of Australia’s (SPAA) on-line OHS management system. This OHS management system is being adopted by Australian productions to implement a systematic approach to OHS management. As a manager or supervisor you may be required to implement this system or a similar system to ensure safe production workplaces.
To support your learning & assessment activities the on-line training site includes:
• Course Glossary
• Forum notice board
• Live tutorial chat facility
• Frequently Asked Questions
The Ensure a Safe Workplace course you are participating in as students is also being undertaken by experienced industry professionals. As such there are some learning & assessment activities that you as an IFC student will not be participating in. In the course log-in page there is reference to an industry participant survey and third party reference which is only for industry professionals. In the Learning Guides there are ‘My Production OHS Experience’ questions for industry professionals to reflect on and record in their on-line journal. IFC students do not complete this activity however you can read these questions and think about the OHS issues facing industry practitioners as part of your learning experience.
Having industry professionals undertaking the course gives you the opportunity to read the Unit Element Forum Notice boards where industry professionals place issues & solutions to managing OHS on productions. As an IFC student you can read these and post your own questions/issues and interact with the industry professionals. IFC students have additional assessment questions based on the video case studies.
